Methodology

The client was dead set on maximising views into the garden, as the previous views were restricted by a small 3ft wide Pvc French door.

We previous prepared the opening to the rear home extension, by removing the load bearing wall at the rear and installing an RSJ steel beam to facilitate the larger opening for a 12ft wide bi folding door.

The opening is then made good and prepared for installation of the doors. Stainless steel bead trims line the outer edges of the opening, to provide a sharp straight edge to the opening, so are not to get chipped corners over time with wear and tear.

Lead time for supply of our external bi folding doors, is 2-3 weeks from survey to delivery onsite. As all went well, a shiny new set of thermally aluminium bi fold doors were delivered to site and the delivery inspected and received from the manufacturer, Reynears.

We attend site with a couple of skilled contractors, to ensure all the heavy lifting of the bi fold door can be managed into position. The bi fold door is installed in accordance with the manufacturers specification. This preserves the 10 year warranty which is passed onto the client on all fixed and moving parts of the external folding door.

All making good is carried out. Internally we trim the doors, and externally we ensure all weather tight seals are in place to ensure the property stays water tight for all seasons.

All waste is removed from site, and the client’s property is left clean and tidy.

Result

Another happy client. Installation of the doors went without a hitch, but this normally comes with experience. Belive me, we have paid to learn the up and downs of this service sector. But that means, no mistakes with forward installations, which makes for a better service for future installs.
