Supply and installation of bi fold doors.
Property is located in Norbury, Croydon, CR7. The property is a brick/render ex-local authority semi detached house with 3 beds and two reception rooms.
The brief was to create external opening to rear flank wall of house to facilitate bi-fold door installation.

Methodology
structural calculations are prepared based on a site visit from our surveyor. Based on these working items we procure the correct steel supports and prepare the opening.
The next phase is removal of the load bearing rear wall and installation of temporary structural supports using heavy duty acrow props.
Installation of a 2No steel beams installed. Spec of 178 x 102 x 30 UB bolted at centres . This choice of support allowed us to finish the external side with render and pebble dash to match the style of the property.
Temporary hoarding is installed over night to secure the property during the work period. Boards are fixed from the internal side to maintain overnight security in accordance with insurance approved hoarding methods.
Structural props remain in place to support the steel beam once installed to allow the curing process of the pad stones to settle with minimum shrinkage and movement across the span of the beams.
Installation of the thermally broken aluminium bi fold doors is then completed. Bi fold doors installed in accordance with manufacturers specifications and fixing methods. Bi fold doors are balanced and tested for water tightness with a pressure test.
Internally, the steel beams are then lined with fire retardant board and the internal reveals are plaster skimmed.
Result
Thermally broken aluminium bi-fold doors successfully installed to yet another property. All external making good completed with pebble dash finish. All internal making good carried out. Final visit from Croydon building control passed with flying colours.
